BLOMSTEIN Cup in Berlin
Motions and the party each team had to defend were announced 15 minutes prior to the start of each debate. Subsequently, four teams in two fractions debated against each other by delivering seven-minute speeches each. A jury then determined the winner of the debate.
University debating clubs originated in the United Kingdom and are especially popular in English speaking countries. European and World Championships are held annually. In Germany, the debating scene is growing rapidly, too. To foster that trend and to promote a debating culture in Germany as well as student initiatives more generally, BLOMSTEIN hosted the first BLOMSTEIN Cup.
We congratulate the winners Jonas Huggins and Yannick Lilie from Berlin!
